ive just bought 2x12 inch infinity 120.3se kapa subs 300 wat rms 1200 max with two custom boxes these boxes give 20%more base,a mono jbl bp 300.1 amp 300x1,to drive the subs, infinity 5000cs 5-1/4" two way loudspeaker component system peak music power 225watts that im gonna put in the door card, that im gonna run of a alpine cda 9812rb head unit the unit runs 4x60watts i think the components are under powerd ,can any one tell me if im missing any thing else i might need and is the system needs a better amp or more amps im open to sugestions
Could amp your components, or add a low frequency cut off capacitor to them, as the head unit would cope better then.
Amp the components, a cheap amp will make the components sound so much better than most head units, and run decent cables, especially the RCA cables, not pooty 2 sets from the car boot sale as i've seen done so many times.
How does a box give 20% more bass (base? lol) It may do by running the box smaller than the sub requires but this will eventually knacker the coil -- bad thing Also youd be best ditching the 2 ways in favour of a set of components 6.5" -- this allows you to split the mid and treble for better soundstage --- run direct of the headunit for now or you could amp up at a later date
