Took my eight-year-old niece to Attenborough nature reserve today, and lent her my little Canon Ixus to keep her quiet whilst I was doing the serious stuff with the big Nikon.

And she took this picture! It's taken me years to get where I am now with my photography and in one afternoon, she took this and various landscape pictures that anyone would be pleased to have done.

Just cropped and sharpened. She was really keen once I gave her the camera and explained how to line things up and hold the camera steady. I can see I shall have some competition now. And probably have to get her a camera of her own for Christmas.

Had 3 x Ixus 430's now! wouldn't buy a new one as its just too easy to use and familier now (technofobe talking)

    Beat her.

Beat her until her own mother couldn't pick her out in a line up.

    Then kill her with fire.

It's the only way you'll feel better about things :)

She's a bridesmaid at the wedding but now, as soon as she puts down the bride's train and the flowers, I reckon I'll just hand over the big camera to her and then retire to the bar!
