I need new headlamp bulbs....

The standard headlamps on the Mk4 are hopeless.
Desperately need to upgrade ASAP.
Any suggestions?

 

A maglite and some gaffa tape?

Philips vision plus so i am told. I am gettin some on saturday.50% brighter and shine 50m further ahead.

 

There was a test to a group test on the popular ones on auto express's website (I think).
I did put a link up on the old forum but it wasn't saved.

 

Why not just buy night vision goggles?

 

Another vote for Philips Vision Plus here, although Osram Silver Star just beat them in an Autotrader test recently.

You can read the test and order the bulbs online from Powerbulbs. I've ordered from them a number of times and they are a really efficient, friendly company to deal with.

that websites ok...but it's wrong with what bulb fits what car...it says mkIII golf is H4...er, no...it's H1!!!

 

Look like they are only quoting for the lower-spec MkIII models which used an H4 in thier headlamps.

As you say as you say, the GTI, VR6, etc. uses H1 bulbs.
