You can load the speed camera database into the tomtom which is 300 and get exactly the same thing for half the price. i looked at that before i bought the tomtom and the tomtom seemed to be a much better navigation product. i didn't really think laser detection was that important as by the time it goes off you've been done. with the change you could buy an LRC-100 instead! much more effective!! ha ha. Ja, I've got the Tom Tom speed camera stuff, but as you say, no laser stuff. Also I like the fact the screen changes colour and REALLYwarns you when you're approaching a camera. And it knows which road you're on.
nokia 6600 = 50 gps reciever = 50 256mb mmc = 15 copy of tomtom off kazaa or the like with speed camera locators = free speed camera detector, sat nav, and phone for just over a ton
The Tom Tom plug in is only fixed, Road Angel will be radar detection as well. 600 to protect your licence and have full on portable Sat Nav, doesn't sound too bad in the grand scheme of things
get a 50 bluetooth GPRS thing off ebay to go with you E500 phone and download Tom tom free. u then have sat nav and speed cam and everything all together! total cost 50! MAte just did it....far better tbh! Edited by: Funkyfin2000
Tom Toms lose all their uploaded info if the batteries go flat apparently. Then you have to re-load it all, so it is the higher maintenance option..
You can run the tomtom using the car kit from a 12v supply though cant you? And i cant see it losing all the data stored on the memory just from the battery going flat.
Erm, pass. Bill had his go flat, losing much date/upload effort in the process... ...switched me off going that 'route' .
its all on the memory card, can't see it being lost tbh! any can run the gps unit off 12v...and or the phone on its charger too! its crackin!
