You can load the speed camera database into the tomtom which is 300 and get exactly the same thing for half the price.

i looked at that before i bought the tomtom and the tomtom seemed to be a much better navigation product.

i didn't really think laser detection was that important as by the time it goes off you've been done.

with the change you could buy an LRC-100 instead!
    much more effective!! ha ha.

Ja, I've got the Tom Tom speed camera stuff, but as you say, no laser stuff.

Also I like the fact the screen changes colour and REALLYwarns you when you're approaching a camera.

And it knows which road you're on.

The Tom Tom plug in is only fixed, Road Angel will be radar detection as well.

600 to protect your licence and have full on portable Sat Nav, doesn't sound too bad in the grand scheme of things

Tom Toms lose all their uploaded info if the batteries go flat apparently.

Then you have to re-load it all, so it is the higher maintenance option..

You can run the tomtom using the car kit from a 12v supply though cant you?

And i cant see it losing all the data stored on the memory just from the battery going flat. [:s]
