It's a big if, I can get my hands on a G60 what will I need to get it on to my ABF engine. Find or make a bracket for the alternator. Low Comp pistons. Xflow from an earlier 16V (as mine feeds from the left)? Uprate the injectors ? ECU? Clutch? Gearbox? I am unsure of the items with ? and any more items you can think off, please add. Thanks
How to build a 16V G60 Not quite right for a 2l, need to sort the compression ratio out as the pistons listed there are for a 1.8 16V G60.
You could go with a 2.0 "2E" block. Under a 16v head it'll give you about an 8:1 compression ratio - Ideal for forced induction. Might be better to go for a "KR" head as well, as the exhaust cam is a little more lairy, but still tame enough for FI. Plus you could pick those two up for 100 ish at a scrappy.
Thanks guys, food for thought. I am already running the 1.8 cams in the standard 2.0 ABF. Which I belive makes it more willing to rev (though that could be just me as I put them in, it also seemed to stop the stutter it used to have under acceleration sp). I have a contact who works for VW who is looking into prices for the parts on that list, Mr P.
1.8 cams shouldn't make any real difference, 2.0 8v pistons with valve cutouts would do it use the g60 management too
abf and kr cams produce the same rolling road results almost g60 management should wire in ok, as they had pretty much the same wiring harness, but you might have some immobiliser issues to resolve I don't know much about g60 chargers but i guess you will need the same compression ratio that g60 limiteds ran, does it say on rays website?
