hi guys, was wondering if anyone could help? ive got a mk4 gti and have started to get issues with the immobiliser, basically when you get into the car, insert the key the dash display read immobiliser activated(and beeps) you then have to lock/unlock the car re-insert the key and usually this works! but sometimes it can take a few goes before it decides to play the game and work!!! not a major problem(yet) but annoying! any hints or tips???? cheers in advance
The transponder isnt picking up the chip inside the key and thats why your not disarming the immobiliser. When i turn my ignition on the yellow car key symbol appears and then goes out within a few seconds, i can start the car before it goes out. Theres a black ring around the ignition key slot this is the transponder pick up for the immobiliser key, it may be that this is faulty and may show up on vag com or a fault code reader.
