Well as promised, more pics from HPR from his recent road trip, all things Audi.

The Ingolstadt musem, where better to start than this classic retro racer piece, the Audi 80 GLE Tourenwagen. Occasionally pictured in on the forum and now gathered into a dedicated thread here, it's clearly been well kept and is an Audi heritage car.

Can't fault the appearance of it. Stops you standing! Read all about it:

There's a replica in the UK btw, though the mechanics IIRC are a bit V8.

Actually, this stops you standing - the Audi 90 IMSA GTO:

Never seen it in this detail before:

    Or noticed these ducts:

    Rear suspension, and more:

    Spot the race Konis:

Wibble. Dedicated thread here. Shadow car, in a big way!

Quattro A2. 61 cars built, reads the plaque!

Audi Quattro porn thread? Here

Auto Unions... stuff I've never really got into. How, I don't know how, just look at the immaculate craftsmanship

^^ I may have heard one of these fire up at Goodwood Festival yonks ago, the noise was memorable if it was an Auto Union. Some will remember Audi sent one up Shelsley Walsh Hill, back in the late '80s.

    Try these for oddities:

This is the best - a motorbike with what appears to be a small block 1300, as fitted to the Audi 50, the Mk1/2/3 Polo, Mk1 Golf, Mk2 Golf....!

Stunning work! Why not stick a MOTORBIKE head on it, let it rev to 11,000 rpm and do the Berg Cup, eg? :p

More Auto Union / DKW & Audi Family Tree previously here.

Brought to you by HPR

Interested in a visit? Ingolstadt Audi museum link.

UK alternative? Audi UK's revolving heritage fleet at the Quattro rooms here.

A trip to Ingolstadt is absolute worth to do...with underway Neckersulm
and for all who love cars in general plenty around there , Munchen/ Dingolfing > BMW,
Stuttgart /Weissach > Porsche, Kempten > ABT, and more

Ingolstadt > Audi Museum, Audi Forum, Production plant tours, and more

If there is enough interest i might organise a group visit ..and will try to visit a few places where doors normaly stay closed...

Some very interesting vehicles in there. Cheers for putting this up lads.

Amazing to see the super smooth aero bodywork on the 1937 vehicle. And the cambelt change on the 1300 will be that much easier on a motorbike.
