drop the agreed value, or pay a big premium, or lay it pu for 1 year and just buy the cheapest POS with 1 yrs mot and insure that for 1 year

or [sell it] and buy a fast standard car, my 220bhp fiat costs less than a kr engined valver to insure [8-}]

modified cars are a nightmare, what about a standard map,so it's a 225, would that make it a lot cheaper?

Have you tried A Plan, my old man had his R32 GTR insured through them for a reasonable price, although I think you going to struggle to find anyone decent with no NCB. Have you tried doing it on limited miles? That may save a few quid.

Dropping the agreed value wont affect it that much i wouldnt think.

Plus with a modded car, i'd want it FULLY insured for all of its value.

Its just not worth it otherwise :)

I'd do the 1.0 polo option, lay-up the Golf for a year in a garage and cover it on the home contents insurance...

Isn't there a company that does a pay as you go scheme? You could do that for a year while also running a 1.0 like some have suggested.

Not sure if it will actually give you an NCB but y assistant at work is on one big policy with his parants as his Dad runs a company that has 5 company vehicles.

It means that he is able to insure his own car (MGZR) through this and is also on the insurance for his Mum's Audi TT and his Old Man's Ferrari 355.

Not sure if he gets NCB though so you may end up still without any no claims.

Are you 25 yet? Will drop heavily when you hit 25

    you have an AMK engine?

tell them its from a seat cupra "group 16" not a TT or S3 "group 18" declare all mods but not the fact it's mapped to 300bhp tell them its in the region of 209ish.

I'd be VERY surprised if the post office offered a proper agreed value
policy with a certiface of prrof, rather than just having a meaningless
    value on the certificate[:[]
