right then people... the time has come to aquire a mk2 gti, i'm 18, 2ncb in july, got 3 points for an SP30 and 1 non fault claim. the cheapest insurance i've had so far is 1300 TPFT on a 16v gti, and about 1130 TPFT on an 8v... can anyone recommend any decent companies to try please?!
Try the quality retailers forum, lots of insurance threads in there. I still pay the best part of a grand for my Mk2 valver, and 1200 for the 1.6 diesel Mk1 Caddy - and I'm 30! I don't exactly have the best driving record though......
Try adrian flux, got my best quote from them. Managed to get original quote down by 400 squid! yay! down to 600!
just done another quote and its down to 1150 TPFT, quite happy with it, but cheaper would still be good!
Have you tried www.confused.com they bring up loads of quotes but at 18 its going to be expensive no matter where you go.
Ecarinsurance! Its who im with! Im 17, my first car was my dads old Golf GTI 8v. 1600 quid, hes the policy holder but im the main driver, so its all legal! It should be cheaper for you with 2 years NCB and the equivalent driving experience Google it, as i cant be bothered getting the link! Hope this helps!
