its a bit wierd! the fuel injector goes inline with the WUR hoses, what it does is allow the ecu to regulate the control pressure, and therefore the amount of fuel that is injected by the fuel injectors. it doesnt spray in any extra fuel itself :)

back through the main line up to the airbox/k-jet that would normaly come from the wur

i think like the kstar but that had a seperate injector between the wur that was controlled but this just does it all via it's own instead of having your usual factory wur.

ok I'll take a step backwards

you know the way the k-jet system delivers fuel is via the air being sucked in by the engine lifting up the metering head air flap right? the amount the air flap moves for any given volume of air is determined by the control pressure, which is basically a reservoir of fuel above the metering pin. the higher the pressure, the more force is needed to move the flap. so contrary to what you might think, lower control pressure means more fuel, because at a lower pressure the air flap can move further upwards for the same volume of air being sucked in.

all the k-star+fuel does is allow you to map this control pressure with the ecu, therefore you can totally remap the fuel

My reference to the fifth injector was aimed at that supplied as part of the KS system and not the Cold Start injector ... honest :)

Yep I know all that ....maybe I need to re-word my question......how does the KStar reduce the control pressure via this additional injector? Or is it not an injector in the true sense of the word?

The injector is just a control device, it reduces the control pressure by opening and allowing the fuel to return to the tank (at the primary control pressure regulator return in the metering head / air flow unit)

Well, after all that, i wouldn't be able to use this anyway. My rocco's wur doesn't have a vacuum take off. MS looks like the way forward.

Why not, the standard UTCIS unit does not use a vacuum connection ...
