Hi After changing the rear door handle on my MK2 8V GTI, the door now refuses to open. Whether I try from the inside or outside, I get no response. The locking pin does not seem to be releasing the mechanism. It moves up and down OK, but nothing happens. Ideas anyone? Cheers.
try locking it, then unlocking it and try pulling both door handles at the same time giving a good shove, you might get lucky!
I've already tried that but is feels as if it is just missing the release mechanism. Bloody things. Cheers anyway.
Possibly try using the 'slim jim' method, or get a hooked coathanger down the door pin hole, take the other rear door card off (carefully! )and you'll see what needs to be done Edited by: rubjonny
