I need to order a new one as my current one has a bit of a leak. IIRC it's the white effort (1.8bar according to ETKA). Am I correct? It's the part that's screwed into the top of the oil filter bracket and has a single spade connector on the top..

    Thanky ;)

part number and pressure rating is marked on the base of them, might need to clean it a bit. Some specific part numbers are superceeded but as long as you have a low and high value one it'll be fine, low around 0.3bar high around 1.8.

    Hi
    Sorry for asking...

You say the "high press" 1.8 bar goes in the filter console. Where should I put the low press one. (there is many holes in the end of the head.

    Thanks
    Gosy

Realy nice when someone can read your mind!

I just think there is more temp sensors on my head.

Also I run the old style oilfilter flance from The MK1 for oilcooler, there is no room for 2 oil press switches.

Is it posible to use a hole in the head for this, else I must use a Y.

    Thanks!

the ones at the side are for water, the two on the filter housing are for oil,the one at the back of the head is for oil temp im not sure how well this will monitor pressure though, best place is on the filter housing, you could use a T piece

doesnt the mk1 housing have 2 oil tappings, one for oil pressure and the other for temp? if so take temp one out and put the pressure in there. back of the head oil path will likely be too low pressure for the low sensor, worth a try though if you're stuck

Quick update. Ordered a sender, quoting the part no. off ETKA (056 919 081 E) which corresponds with the item on the vehicle.

Got sent 056 919 081, which is marked as "1.8 - 2.0bar" I'm assuming this part supercedes the original one fitted (which must have happened fairly recently as it's not listed on my copy of ETKA).

Will post if anything catastrophic happens

0.3bar has black/blue wire, 1.8bar has yellow wire. unless its early mk1 (and maybe other early vag?) then the colours are switched
