I taped this Sunday's Top Gear and watched it last night. I have to say, it wasn't much of a tribute to Lamborghini's 40th year, even if they wanted to slate the car's (everyone is entitled to an opinion) but they didn't even have

    a Diablo, Diablo VT,
    image too large

an early Countach, the purist's choice

One thing about the Countach is it has to be the most outragous and super cool way of reversing a car... i mean, image seeing a Countach, firstly that is rare in itself, then you see the driver having to reverse the thing with the door up in the air, i think that has got to be the most awesome automotive image ever!

No 400GT either, although I think I saw one in the studio at the beginning of the programme?

It may be JC's show but he still has a duty to report the news. I don't mind him voicing his opinion and i totally disagree with his cool wall... but since they began the show with 'a tribute to lamborghini's 40 years...' they could have atleast made the effort to gather Lamborghini GT's, Countach's, Diablo's, etc... i mean, there are a few Lambo clubs in the UK and i am sure they would have participated.

I agree with JC, the Murcielago has got to be the closest thing to the best supercar Lambo have ever made and with the Countach, one of the best looking supercars ever.

imagine seeing this car in the late 60's early 70's

As it stands, never mind it being crap to drive, smelling of petrol, clutch heavier than a big mac, rear visibilty almost zero, difficult to get in and out, difficult to park, heavy steering, bad ventilation.... but it was design in the early 1960's it has got to be the #1 ultimate supercar.

It was on my wall when I was a kid in the 70s. It looked like something out of Buck Rogers...

    Showing my age again...

    Cheers,

    Drew.

I was in a Diablo VT at 170mph in a 40 limit..... best car experience I have ever had. EVERYBODY gets out of your way and waves as you pass....... Fuck road safety, everybody should do that once in their life.
