Every window except the front screen can been replaced. A few of my mates run it on there qrt mile cars. They flew through the MOT easily.

mind you if your going to do a lot of miles in it, it might be worth keeping the drivers window glass in.

In the summer it gets hot. And when are in the cars with the lexan, all you can see is us stopping at traffic lights and ques and opening the doors for some fresh air and cool breeze.

The ones with the little slide windows in them are cr@p IMO

    don't think it comes tinted,

its just clear plastic to replace the glass and save weight.

i can do sets of polycarb or perspex windows to fit any Golf in clear or tinted. Possibly a discount for a group buy - i'll speak to my plastic supplier if a few people are interested.

Depends upon perspex or polycarb, clear or tint, sliders or none. Windows can be supplied to use original rubbers or bonded and clamped in.

I'll get some prices later next week - I just haven't got the time at the moment as i'm busy with my car until monday night [:s]

This might be a really stupid question but..

If you are replacing the glass with an identical piece of plastic, can it not be wound down like the glass? [:s]

Another stupid question... If film tints in the front are illegal, can you get around the law with tinted perspex windows? ;)

How resiliant are these to stones etc?

Film tints aren't illegal on the front windows. I had a chat with a policeman about this, and he said that as long as you can still see the driver then they won't give you any hassle (this was for Warwickshire Police, may vary).

I think that front tints can be up to 15%, with 0% being totally clear and 100% being totally black, but I'm not totally sure of this.

Tints are poo full stop, they are illegal for a reason! Like driving with
    sunglasses on at night.

mine are tinted but it's very very slight, not rudeboy tinted - just takes the edge off them

no you can't wind them up or down - they will scratch easily - if you want winding windows keep the originals and maybe just do the rears

it's a good mod - loses lots of weight which is also high up in the car, so you're not only reducing mass but also reducing the centre of mass in the car in the vertical plane
