Hi, I am currently in the middle of building a MK2 16v G60 conversion and I am looking for a longer throttle cable due to the throttle body moving from the back of the engine to the front. Does anyone have an Idea of a car with the same pedals that has a longer cable? Or may be someone has come across this problem before? Any advise would be appericiated......
You want a 1.6 carb cable for mk2 unsure of part number but try GSF. same a s when doing 20 VT conversion
Maybe mine was a 1.6 then and the speedo cable was a 1.3?? will take a look thru my reciepts and see what the part number was
according to the Qpeng web site it says use 1.6 / 1.8 carb throttle cable but then this is for 20vt conversion. But that got front throtle looking at pics.
i think i have read its 1.3 for speedo. Being reading lot of conversion guides recently must be sinking in!!
If you get really stuck, just buy a 3meter throttle cable off eBay and trim it to whatever length you want!
Thanks for the input. I was down the breakers at the weekend and saw a 1993 passat diesel as well that had the same looking cable and that was at the front rather than the back. Think I'll go with the 1.6 carb cable though, as at least the pedal box end will deffo be the same. Thanks again!
