OK can somebody please please tell me what effect on the overal sound happens when I make adjustments to certain things on my head unit or AMP.

My Amp / Sub has a low pass filter on it how does turning this up or down affect the bass that comes ot of my tube.

My headunit allows me to change the High pass filter on certain outputs, what affect on the sound will this have.

Sorry to sound like a complete numptey but I've been searching around for some deffinative answers for some time now and am still a little confused.

you would possibly want to filter out the extremely low bass from the fronts to help with distortion

and filter out the mids and highs from the sub channel as it wont play those freqs

ok so to filter out the mid /high on the sub do I turn the Low pass filter up or down ?

and If I have an amp ( 2 channel) with a switch that has 2 settings " low Pass" and "high pass" which one should I put it on to get rid of the bass ?

erm at a guess id say the low pass lets the lows through?

best have a play with it at low volumes...should be pretty obvious when you get it right

if you can, aim to filter out 80hz and below for the fronts.

the sub will happily do 80hz and under.

if you want more "punch" change the low pass to 100hz.
