    Hi guys

Would a faulty MAF constitute low / negative boost?

My 1.8T mk2 recently threw up an error on diagnostics:

Mass Air Flow Sensor (G70): Signal too Low : P0102

Drove it for around 8 miles today and parked up. Noticed whilst driving it the boost gauge was reading -15 on idle.

Got back in it 5 mins later and it started but stutter under any acceleration, then just cut-out.

Remembered that I had the MAF fault so I unplugged the MAF and the engine started fine, drove back home no issues.

I tested all the pipes for leaks using soapy water but can't locate any issues.

On idle the boost gauage should read - as the engine is on vacuum?

I've not done a lot with the 1.8T but the ME7.8 on Porsche's, which are pretty much similar/identical, references a boost map in the event of sensory input problems for torque/boost modelling which is around 1500hpa after 2500rpms, so if there is a problem with sensors I would expect the 1.8T to do the same.
