Is there anyone out there with experience of fitting a 1.8T engine to a post 1990 M2 8v GTI? I'm thinking of buying a written off Seat Leon Cupra or similar. I understand the main thing is to get the complete car (with ignition key) but I'm not too hot on electrical stuff. I assume I use the Leon loom from the Fusebox onwards as would be the case with G60 or VR6 swap? I was chatting to a bloke with a Mk1 who said he rewired the entire car using the Leon loom! a bit over the top I thought but would welcome ideas - has anyone come up with a step by step guide or some photos of key stages? ;)

If you know your way around wiring, merge the 2 looms into one,
If you can try & use the new fuse box, it would iron out a lot of problems, as Mk2 would have less feeds/fuses coming out of it!

Rewiring the whole car bit extream, but i'd do it out of fun [:D]
