Right. In pic 1, connector F is for the wiper motor. I don't have the connector E on my loom but it's unlikely to be the blower as that is on the interior loom with all the other dash stuff.

I do have a 2-pin connector with red/yellow wiring that goes thru the same grommet as the wiper motor connector - just like in your pic. It comes from the ECU and then meets an identical connector that goes to the TCI unit.

In pic 2, I have a 3 pin connector in a similar position that goes to the throttle body but my 3 wires are white+black+yellow/black.

I don't have that odd green connector in pic 1 either.

I've not got the engine and gearbox bolted on yet, nor the 1.3 out as I'm waiting to get a 16v Flywheel and Pressure Plate to complete the 'box (along with changing the 2 seals inside at the end of the main shaft) plus I only want to hire a crane once, so I can do; old engine out, cut and re-weld mount, 16v in.

All I dont have a clue about is the 4 white multiplugs and the VDO black 'box. How do I wire these up?

And also, how do I go about making a loom for the fuel pump turn-on? What colours going where etc.

    Where are you infinity? :(
infinity made it sound as though it is similar to plug and play and that I simply needed a power and an earth for the ECU but what about the other connectors, WUR, ISV, TPS etc?? That is also with me saying it is a 1.3 Driver and not K-Jet to start with.

If all Mk1 fuseboxes and Mk2 Scirocco's after 1982 (when the fuse type changed) are all the same, no matter what specification/engine size/type, does this mean that the majority of the remaining blanks on the back of my fusebox are for the K-Jet loom?

I think it's best if I start with a Mk1 K-Jet loom and go from there, so if any of you know anyone breaking such car (Cabby and Scirocco also, not sure if the electrics changed at all upto the end of the Mk1 Cab production...) let me know on here or by e-mail.

Why can't you just use the entire 16v loom? It might need some lengthening/shortening of wires but all the basic components are there.

Would these 4 multipin connectors go into this?

No. That's a mk2 loom into a mk1 fusebox - connectors are different. I'm sure if you knew what all the wires were you could cut and paste.

Pic 1 : Can't remember what A is [:$], B is the ISV controller, C is the 15 supply (black) and earth (brown/white) for the ISV. Nothing in this pic has anything to do with K-Jet or the ignition, if you didn't run an ISV you could chuck the whole lot.

    Thanks fella. :)

infinity has given me a bit of a run down with all of this recently, which I'm thankful for. Cheers G. :)

Basically I want to use a Mk1 K-Jet loom so it keeps everything neat and tidy and I can just plug in the K-Jet parts of the loom into the fusebox. I dont have a Mk1 GTI Haynes manual, only the 1.1-1.3 one, so it's not exactly possible to lengthen the 16v loom into this for me but I could get one and use this as a last resort if a Mk1 GTI loom doesn't turn up in time.

Fingers and Toes crossed that I can find a Mk1 GTI loom...

Does anyone have a diagram/brief sketch of the wiring loom for the fuel pump and an in-tank lift pump?

    Cheers.

I've dug out the K-Jet loom again and started to piece it together as the one I got has been chopped clean in half from the bulkhead rather than wires popped through the grommet.

    Anyway...

From the Mk1 K-Jet white block connector, I have in the engine area 7 two pin connectors:

    ----------

A group of three all from one wire tubing (black, blue and black)

    1st Black = Red/White and Brown
    Blue = Green/White and Black
    2nd Black = Black/Brown and Black

    ----------

Next wire tubing has the following:

Yellow wire - flat connector for a sender (covered)
    Brown/White - spade

    More tubing leads to:

Green wire - flat connector (not covered)
Blue wire - flat connector for a sender (covered)
    Dark Green/Blue 2 pin = Red/White and Brown

    Small tubing leads to:

Red/Yellow - for a gauge on the dash but which?

Another seperate small tubing leads to:

    Brown 2 pin connector = Green/White and Red/Black

    ----------

Shortest bit of tubing from the grommet has the following:

A covered single Black wire - flat connector
A Red/Black wire (end has been cut on mine so dont know what it had on the end)
    Dark Green/Blue 2 pin connector = White and Black/Yellow

    ----------

There is another black connector that comes out of the big grommet which is the shortest of them all so doesn't go that far:

2 pin black connector = Blue/Red and Brown

    ----------

    * 'wire tubing' being the waterproof plastic stuff protecting the loom

Now I know this may sound complicated but it isn't at all! All I need someone to do is spare a few minutes to look around there engine bay and pin point the connectors around the engine and let me know what they are connected to and also jot down the wires coming out of the connector.

It will only take 5-10 minutes to find and note down what I need to know to get me started with the wiring and you'll be helping out in a huge way if you manage to gather all the info!

Ideally the best method to take is to just look around your engine and make a note of the colour of the connector, what it's connected to and what wires are coming out of it. Do that with the 7 connectors and then look at the smaller single wire connectors and do the same.

    Please help. [:^(]

    Right, scrap the above.

All I need to know now is where in the fusebox the WUR wires Red/White and Brown go to, both have seperate connectors and not part of any of the big multipin connectors and the wire from the thermoswitch Red/Black, also a seperate connector and may be a T-shape connector with two green/white wires going to it.

Could someone please have a look for me? [:$]

    :(

The above is all I need to know now, then I can wrap it all up and get on with the other bits!

All I need to know is where in/around the fusebox the WUR wires Red/White and Brown (which I think is earth) go to, both have seperate connectors and are not part of any of the big multipin connectors as far as I can see from a bit of Mk1 GTI loom in front of me and the wire from the Thermo Time Switch - Red/Black (though could be Green/Red if you're using Mk2 wires), also a seperate connector and may lead to a a T-shape connector with two green/white wires going to it.

Could someone please have a look for me?
