why when converting a mk1 to take a 20vt can't you use the radiator fro mth edonour vehicle? is it purely because it doesn't fit at all, wrong shape/dimensions/plumbing.

because everyone uses rallye/G60 stuff instead why?

I would say so, but it may also be that they do a better job.

so whats the best radiator to use in a mk1 with forced induction engine?

im getting an IHI turbo for my mk1 G60 turbo, and thats totally water cooled. so im thinking of gettin a much bigger radiator to span the whole of the front. i was going to look round the scrappies and find a radiator from some other car and use that insted...

If your lucky you could find a 8v mk2 GTI with Aircon , that has the biggest rad that will fit a mk1

cairfull though as the intercooler needs to go infront of the rad. so you would need room either side to get the boost pipes round.
16v rads are large also. or you could go for a GTi G60 setup with big IC and rad combo. These ICs are prity good.

16v rads are smaller actually, but double cored. Any radiator rebuilders should be able to build a rad to your size, providing you have the end tanks and know what size you want it.
