    i`d use the syncro beam to carry the haldex, if you go the powernut way you`ll end with more metal in it than the car weighs just to carry the haldex beam

    Which may well explain why you kept blowing apart Syncro back ends.... ;)

    so does anyone have the required parts for sale??????

    could i use parts from an audi a4 or passat syncro as they are way cheaper than tt of golf syncro???

    From memory, albeit it hazey, I think A4/Passat stuff won't work. Or rather its quattro type stuff rather than Syncro or Haldex.

    loads of bits on e38 at the mo. the lad with the haldex mk1 seems to be "parting out!" worth a chat with him tbh, great value once you do the math

    yeah went to see it today but i think he wants a bit too much.

    also concerned about oil supply for rear diff?????

    his rallye rear beam has had the dutch build part welded on. i would weant a shortened beam so it would be a shame to cut it all off!!

    Like teh gearbox, it is a sealed unit. There need not be a "oil Supply". You just fill it up and away you go. Once you need to change it, like anything that hasn't been designed at the factory, it may be a bit of a PIA, but trust me - during the build process you would have fitted and refitted it enough times that dropping the whole rear end off with be second nature.

    why do you want to shorten it , doesn`t need to be, fits fine with a little adjustment to the sill

    i measured it up and it looked like it would deffo be too wide to be able to run a dihed wheel and standard arches.

    others i have seen that retain the car stock look have been shortened.
