Mk1 acceleration

    My Mk1 Jetta currently has a stock PL engine with kat removed.

    Is this healty acceleration for a MK1 with a PL engine? It pulls okay in the first 3 gears, but 4th seems very gutless at higher revs. Feels the same as in my 1600kg volvo. Is this due to aerodynamics of the Mk1 bodytype?
