Hi trying to help a friend out here.

mk1 gti 1.8 1983 runs fine from cold seem to have around 7-8 bar fuel pressure as the car warms up the pressure drops dramatically to approx 3-4 bar then cuts out and wont start. I fi let it cool it then starts and repeats the process, any ideas?

where are you measuring the pressure? 7-8bar is far too high if thats the system pressure, it should be 5 bar. see the k-jet documents in my sig for proper testing of the k-jet system and control pressures

ok what you need to do is measure the pressure between the metering head and the wur, the pipe on the front is the one to connect to. you need a gauge with a tap on it as well. see the wur mod thread as well as the k-jet test manuals in my sig for the full procedure
