I've been offered a mk1 gti 1983 in white, supposedly an x show car but will have to see when I get there!
Fitted with bbs rms but that's all I really know, I've got a few interior pics and it looks good, it starts drives etc, but mot has run out (not an issue in my mind) makes it cheaper!
Anyone got rough idea on prices to pay? Will add some pics shortly of what I've got

6k is a bit steep in my opinion....I sold my Campaign fitted with a RE1900 GTI Engineering engine for 4.5k during the summer....I sold it to Miltek as they wanted a car to showcase their new Miltek Classic range and mine was the best example they had seen! There are pics of it on Facebook on there stand at Autosport on the Mk1 Owners Club page.

From the pics you've posted it has got a Campaign steering wheel, so worth checking chassis number as it could be a Campaign and they don't realise it ;)

What would chassis number be if so? What else do I need to look for?

    So
    A reg or newer
Chassis should be WVWZZZ17EW or DW which is an exception
    Leather wheel
    Green tint glass
    Fuel filler
Pirelli P wheels (obviously not on this one) maybe the spare is?
    Sunroof
    Fog lamps not driving lamps
    Door lock pins
Colour this should be alpine white in this case!

Chassis number would start 17EW, it'll have a leather rimmed steering wheel, A pillar wind deflectors and should have Pirelli P slot wheels with small gap between them not the later Mk2 ones. Clearly it's not got the latter as has BBS fitted but they may still have the P slots which are worth grabbing if they do if you want to put it back to original or alternatively they fetch strong money themselves....I personally would put P slots back on and sell the BBS....but that's just me :-)

Here's my old car at Autosport this year on the Miltek Classics Stand :-)

I've been to see it and looks good they guy has had it for 8 years and is moving so it's got to go, it's how he bought it and he hasn't had to do much over the years, it needs bottoms of both sills sorting as been jacked up on them and crushed the bottoms, engine bay not up to much but all solid

    Chassis number is WVWZZZ17ZDW ??

Has wind deflectors on A pillars, steel sunroof, leather rim wheel, has single lamp grill but could have been changed as that was the look then as with eyebrow, spare is a standard GTI alloy

Forgot to look at wheels to see if they are RM OR RS but have 1 inch rims

Started on the button no smoke etc, interior very good

Fitted with coilovers and fitted with G60 front brakes
