Mk1 safer than Mk4 Golf....

    I've only hit the back of one car -- and thats cos a woman decided to come the wrong way down a main road! [:s]

    No... clipped his bumper at the side. ;)

    It was some Nissan i hit the rear of.

    She hit the rear of a Volvo without even seeing it and the only warning i got to stop was seeing the back of her car lift up off the floor!

    It is somewhat beside the point, as very few drivers bother to adjust their head reastraints properly, So the design of them, or whether they are even there no longer matters.

    No restraint adjustment on front R32 seats.
    They look nice but are a total bugger for the passenger to sleep in!
    Hope this doesn't make them dangerous.
    Otherwise superb. [:D]

    you not see my mk1 up there? was exactly the same! getting the spare wheel out was a mare! i think that may of helped take some of the force too. doors wouldn't shut, boot wouldn't shut, had a lot of scrapping on the rear wheels. exhaust was a funny shape (which now lives on an astra [:s] )
