A mate of mine has been offered a mk1 scirroco, been sitting in a garage for 15 years, has 70k on the clock, full leather interior etc etc. W-reg, no visible rust, or none noticed at the time.

no clue as to if it goes or not, but, any ideas what its worth? money hasn't been mentioned yet, he might just want rid of it.

also what do you guys reckon should be done / checked before getting it back on the road?

yeah in all seriousness I sold mine that had been sat for a while for 350. that had a rattly engine (I suspect the big ends were gone). it was in fairly good solid condition but it was far from rust free.

If the sills and all the structural MOT points are sound thats the main thing, because they do rot badly.

From what my mates said its light green in colour, and has the 1600 GTI engine with the leather interior, so it does sound like a storm, i'm just not sure what colour the storms came in?

what kinda money is it worth if its clean and runs well?

    cheers guys.

I sold a 2 owner 63k FSH Storm for 2k last year. The only issue with your Storm is that it will most likely require a new fuel tank at least (assuming it wasn't drained) and very possibly a complete engine rebuild.

I reckon about a grand would be the max.

If your friend wants rid then pm me - I have cash ;)
