Quck Update, got hold of a few bits and pieces

New VR6 Clutch, Slave Cylinder and Engine and Gearbox mounts

Heap of new bolts and stuff, Subframe, suspension and bumper bolts etc, plus a few random engine bolts etc - remarkably expensive for all they are

Got the VR6 flywheel fitted with new bolts

Fitted up the Gearbox. You can see the New VR6 cooling/thermostat flanges fitted to the 24v head aswell - makes the cooling system plug and play with Corrado VR6 Hoses

And a shot of the VR6 rear engine mount bolted up to the engine

Hopefully get the Garage/Back garden sorted so i can start thinking about getting the MK2 stripped down. :v:

Good idea with the 12v 'stat housing etc, it's nice it fits the 24v head!

Don't make the same mistake I did and pay good money for a Corrado VR6 rad and fans off eBay (I've not forgotten about it yet Bobby!) only to find the fans broken and the rad leaked when we filled it with coolant.. ended up using a Seat rad tucked under the slam panel with mk3 VR hoses - neater.

Guess you'll have to shorten the rear engine mount as per 'normal' mk2 VR6 swap?

I would imagine so, will trial fit it on the mounts as they are and adjust as required. I have a set of fans to go with the rad, off the toledo, Corrado VR6 sopec aswell, they'll need a new plastic support piece (about 15 from vw i think) might use em, might whack a slimline infront to keep it neat, see how it goes.

Used 2 x 10" slimline fans on mine, behind the rad, quite a bit of room still.

i believe that would make it a 24v version of the old rs4(b5) engine!

Not massive progress, but slowly getting there

MK3 VR6 front engine mount bracket on the 24v block, will require a small spacer on the top left bolt.

    Old 8v engine removed

Empty MK2 engine bay, needs a damn good clean up. . . .

All mounts as standard, rear mount will need the 10mm chop, hopefully gain some needed bonnet clearance (just catches the top of the cam cover)

Plenty room other side and front though

Will get the Stick shift removed tonight and will throw on the downpipe i got from PHAT, see how it fits and whats required to make it work.

Where is the best place to get some exhaust tube and parts, need a 2 into 1 collector and some straight pipe to make up a piece from the downpipe to the Jetex ssystem. . . . ?
