So, in a bit of an impulse purchase i have bought this lol

    A J Plate MK2 3dr in White. Its a 1.8 Driver with 100k.

Main reason for purchase was the incredibly rust free shell!! Even the Dimples on the front floor pan aren't rusted through!

Its picked up some gash aftermarket tat over the years, crystal headlights, fake carbon front grille, led tail lights and a lot of interior chrome bits etc. All of which will get removed and binned

Headights have already been replaced with new Hella units, and a GTI twin lamp grille that came with the car. Tail lights are gone, standards back on. All aftermarket stereo amps etc removed.

Just a general clean up required to start with, then decide what to do with it.

    So, some gash pics lol

Oh, ai almost forgot, it had a mint set of these fitted too! Drivers seat stripped to rectify the common cracked back rest weld. But all bolsters are good, and the material has no holes. Fully functional motors too :p

More pics to follow once ifinish the interior strip and get it outside again.

Great engines though 1.8 carbs :)

My 1.8 driver engine was on 192,000 when i sold it, and the last i heard its still going strong.

Being a J plate 1.8 driver, does it have the green tinted glass all round like mine.

Nice find, you know when the foam elephants trunk is still intact that you're on to a well minded car!

If someone waved a rust free white Mk2 under my nose I would find it very hard to say no, looks like a good buy:thumbup:

Yeah green tint glass, well apart from the rear cos someone has fitted a clear gti one in the past to get the rear spoiler.

Think I have a green one in 'stock' though to swap in lol

The car had an alarm which had been bypased, so set about getting it removed. Must have been an expensive install as it was done properly, almost had to take the dash out to get it removed! Have also removed all the stereo system and wiring.

Also sorted the fusebox wiring looms that had been chopped about over the years

New door membranes in (old ones were fecked)

Recaro in with fixed wiring loom. Still not sure about the Momo, might take it out and put a standard one in.

As there was a sale on, it would have been rude not to buy, so picked uo some FK silverline coilovers for it. Cheap, but will do the job nicely.

Keep the Momo, they always look good in a Mk2. :)

Nice set of coilovers there. How cheap were they then ?

They were just over 300 i think. Not bad really.
Should be able to recify the hilux ride height!

Also sourced some 16v front hubs, and G60 calipers, so will get those fitted, with a gti rear beam and discs too.

    Engine bay complete.

Now with ABF, MK3 Power Steering rack, and MK3 Fuel Tank, 02J Linkage with Polo Housing. Should be quite nice to drive. Engine was out of G60DUB's Blue MK3.

Just some interior tidying to do, fit a Dark GTI Headlining, Electric sunroof and Mirrors etc to give it the full electric package. Should be quite a nicely spec'd run around!

Nah, Scirocco's long gone. S3 Sportback for the wife instead. Managed to get 3 MK2's though!

This will be new run about, the Black one, is a bit rough round the edges now, but still fully functional, so might just strip it and make it a proper thrasher.
