Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew about mk2 arb diameters. I know from ETKA that G60 had 23mm one. But ETKA does not show any other than the G60 one and 21.5mm one. I am quite sure that there was some other anti roll bars. The one I am interested about is 1.8 16V. My question is: What diameter was the 16v arb? P.S. I found a part number that might be it although I'm not sure. 176 411 309 Tuomas
I fitted some Neuspeed arb's to mine, rose jointed linkages. 23mm front 25mm rear iirc. The standard 16v one was significantly thinner.
the 21.5mm bar confusion is becasue VW at some point replaced the original 18mm bar with a mk3 estate one, if you get one of these you also need to change the inner bushes. the g60 23mm bar doesnt need different inner bushes though, it has the same 18mm ones as the normal mk2 bar as the bar is tapered rather than the same thickness all the way along the clue for the 21.5mm bar is the larger bushes are 1H0 on the diagram and listed for 'estate' plus the 1H9 part number for the bar
Beam itself is the same (as equivalent age golf, the design changed a bit over the years) but the roll bar inside is thicker
