quiz time, a previous owner of my valver thought it wise to unplug the central locking [:s]

anyhoo, i have had the doorcard offto find, a blue and a red wire going to a blue plug that isnt plugged to anything, BUT i cant see anywhere it might plug to?

also theres 3 wires i cant work out what are for

theres a pink and a black wire - for the red light in the door

red and blue - which im told is the c/l

but then coming from the same block as the red and blue theres: purple, brown(or grey, i forget) and a black

the purple and the brown go to a white plug, and the black goes to a black plug all of its own

so whats wrong and what are these 3 wires for

i hope that made a bit of sense [:s]

well you know some central locking actuators use 5 wires instead of
just 2, maybe at some point a 5 wire actuator was fitted.

(check maplin out for 5 wire actuators, most companies sell both 5
    and 2)

if your central locking is stock, try doing this, lock your car from the
passenger's side, if all your doors lock tell us and i might have a
    theory for you lol.

Otherwise if it isn't stock, the red and blue wire's are probably for
the blue vacuum operator (the master actuator is just a switch in the
drivers door, that operates the vacuum pump in the rear, all the
other doors have vacuum lines), my theory is :0

    1. your car at some point had original central locking (single point).
    2. your car had a multi point actuator installed (electric type)
    3. the two wires are for old central locking in DRIVERS side

way to see if this is true is to check passengers side, there shouldn't
    be the extra wires there.
