My questions are, if I want to remain 4 stud can I simply buy 4 stud mk3 brake discs ? Are all the bearing/shaft sizes the same ? Also, what is this part called in the photo and is it required ? I am not using the ABS from the mk3.
Buy as a pair spindle and disk to be sure, if yours does not have spindle/disk. Brake pressure regulator is needed for non abs. I have on my driver a vr6 beam with passat b4 spindle/disk, same as mk3 most likely 226mm disk.
yes you can just fit mk2 4 stud discs and jobs a goodun thats the brake bias valve which reduces force to the rear depending on load at the back. without it chances are you'll end up backwards in a hedge under harsh braking so ideally you want to keep that. buy a new one before you fit it up, you'll need the MK3 golf version not mk2
Thank you for your repies, The one in the photo is the mk3 beam, it was off an early mk3 vr6. would you recommend replacing this part for new? I'm trying to avoid hedges at all costs.
If it looks ok and the lever moves free and springs back under its own power nicely you could fit it as is, worst case you'll just have bleed the system again if it turns out to be faulty and wants replacing
