I have purchased a set of early mk2 front brake shields in an anodized finish. Would this normally be BLACK as an original?
I am happy to put an extra layer of paint protection on them, just trying to get it right.cheers

Can't answer with any certainty other than to say I've a pair of original VW ones for the MK1 and they're painted a matt / satin black, though that's not to say they didn't come in different finishes.

The new ones on the rear of mine are satin black I would think the front would be the same.

They look great as they are! Perhaps some clear lacquer ;)
