could anyone tell me if its possible to put a corrado g60 engine in my mk2?it looks the same as my 1.8 16v engine but supercharged!!! cheers kev
if i bought a corrado g60 engine then i would by the gearbox aswell.so what other things do i have to be aware of if i bought the engine and box?loom, wiring etc?
get the gearstick and cables, brakes,as much as you can really...a front mounted intercooler would be better than a corrado one
i would like to get the box and engine and put it in and work.so there the only problems engine wise?ill get every thing i need to start and drive the car
yep it will all bolt up/plug in...you just need to alter the tunnel slightly where the gearstick bolts in..easy job tho
by the way my mk2 is 91 j reg so as long as the corrado is 90 spec then its simpler or just the same?
i think any g60 will be ok....try to find a golf g60,theres a better chance of getting the big intercooler
well its easier to get a second hand corrado g60 round my area.but i could get golf intercooler through post or something at a later date.these engines ...are they reliable with it being supercharged?ive heard there better than turbos in everyway!power and reliabilty wise...true?
most engines are around 1000ish complete...its the most reliable vw engine to be honest, but with proper servicing ang a charger service it should fine
do you know anywhere in particular?sorry to be a pain!!!!!!!!!!!!!is that price includeing the box?if not how much is the box on a rough? p.s i appreciate this mate
just look in the classifieds section on here or ebay or magazines..if you look around 1000 should get the whole lot
Just quiet a suggestion. Your 16v gearbox would be much better to used with the G60 or the 16v/G60 Coz the 16v box has much better ratios than the G60 box for just about every use. Also I'm not sure if you could use a G60 flywheel and clutch with the 16v box, maybe you'd have to re-use the 16v flywheel and uprate the clutch??. That is unless you want a rallye box and 4*4 aswell as the g60 but that'd be just crazy. lol Hope it's been helpful again.
