Well this is my first post on the forum. Hope I'm posting this in the right place!

The little 1.6 in my Mk2 driver is on its way out and im hoping to get hold of a 1.8 8v gti lump to go in its place (if all goes well.) I've seen a few mk2's floating around on various social media pages that are running bike carbs on this engine.

just posting to see if anyone on here has done this mod before, if so what parts do i need? and also more importantly is it a worthwhile!

    Many thanks in advance, Tom.

Apart from a custom inlet manifold, this is pretty straight forward to do, usually route would be to normally use a 16v engine (or cross flow 8v) as air flow is easier, but a normal 8v is doable

From experience, bike carbs will produce about 25bhp more than k-jet fuel injection. :)

Shooting yourself in the foot using a counterflow mk2 head. Using a 2E/AGG block and x flow mk4 cyl head is the way to go!
