    Looking for some advice. I have a passenger door window scraper rubber not touching the glass along the length of the glass.

    This is what I have done so far;

    1. Replaced rubber with new from Heritage - same result - gap all way along.

    2. Converted to electric windows partly thinking a bit of extra grunt would push glass upward and outward - same gap.

    3. Today whilst fixing cent locking I realised I could shim outward my electric window central runner and additionally shimmed glass to runner. Shims (washers). Result is a vast improvement, however the gap remains toward the front of car. I removed the mirror and couldn't see any further shimming/packing outward opportunities.

    My door does not seem tight, warped, bowed outward, sagging etc, it just feels like a car from 34 years ago.

    Any advice greatly appreciated.

    The seals were never that great hence the drains in door bottoms. Just make you use the double membrane method as described in this forum. Do some checking with the door card off and hose

    Thanks for the info. I did wash it today with door card off, it's mostly dry now, just forward portion leaks.

    There shouldn't be a gap although they do let some water through. It also depends upon the quality of the rubber scraper too.
    Are you sure that the top door skin edge isn't distorted?
    ie remove both the rubber and metal hockey stick channel to check. IIRC it is single skin so may be distorted.

    Hi Andy,

    thanks for the reply. I actually thought about removing what you said and looking at the door skin, if it is distorted perhaps a pair of molegrips on it and a little twist but i'm afraid the paintwork may crack.

    I was thinking about just jamming a stick of wood between my garage wall and close to mirror to pus wiper inward, metal has memory but I dont think that will be enough brute force.

    Today i'm replacing engine bay fuel hoses and vacumm lines (had for months - just may as well get both jobs done together.
