I've ordered part to replace the wishbone bushes on my golf but having removed a wishbone, the new part looks different to the original and to the image of what I ordered, but the part number seems to be correct.

the original, and the part i ordered look like this:

But the part I received looks like this:

Are they compatible? And how important is that little sleeve, as I mullered the original getting it out and the new part doesn't include one....

The part I ordered is Quinton Hazell EMS1850

    Thanks!

1st one is probably a stock photo, 2nd one is what it should look like.

the tin sleeve is there to help you get the bush centralised in the subframe, if you line it up by eye you're fine. Oh and it makes life easier if you put a jack under the ball joint then lift it up till the wishbone sits level before you centralise the bushes :)
