Just started changing my drop links on mk2 GTi, everything is fine until I try and get the bolt back on, the rubber seems to be too thick on the bottom of the wishbone as you cant get the nut on even one thread. Ive tried compressing it but its ****ing it down here and the clamps keep slipping because it is wet.

Anyone got any ideas? Its going to be something obvious but I just cant get my head around it at the moment

Are the struts connected still? If so, that will make the wishbones very hard to go up far enough to bolt it back up, from what I can remember when I did mine. Undo both struts first, good luck bud :)
