    hi all,

on my rallye, i'm running a late spec 1.8t bam engine. It's running all the oem ecu and what not. The problem I've had with it is I cannot get the rev counter to work. I can get it working on late spec corrado clocks, but as far as I'm aware the signal to mk3/corrado clocks are different than mk2.

I have tried using a black box which you get from jabba and I ordered a more advanced one which allows you to set some settings to convert up to 12 cyls into 4 cyl clocks. This does work, but doesn't work on mk2 clocks still.. Vince at stealth told me to get it.

    What should I do :(...

originally i had problems with mine too, turns out it needed a better earth and live to prevent overheating. all thats inside is a coil and 3 pin diode

this is from QPeng, the transformer is a 35:10.5 ratio its very important the metal tab on the diode does not touch anything.standard part number is BD243C
    show here[IMG]
    top pin 1 Ecu signal
    pin 2 coil black
    pin 3 Earth

coil, show red 12v+ and black wire to diode pin2

coil, showing brown 12v+ and blue to tacho

    hope this helps:)

well thats it ^up there, mine came with the kit i can`t see it being expensive to make all the parts are standard consumables for a leccy.

diodes are under2 from farnell, they also have lots of them, but the vagueness of the info i know doesnt help. i`m still looking

I've been looking for this information since last summer and its so close to being possible to build but cant find a suitable transformer anywhere since they dont do it by ratio? Has anybody got any more info (even a manufacturer would be handy).

    Cheers

question.... what signal do the mk2 rev counter clocks want to see?

i have an s60 feeding pin 10 on instrument cluster, and scoped its signal output, which is a square wave dc switched output at battery voltage amplitude. rev counter wont work.. its run on an exp48 ecu before and worked, which is odd needless to say.

Another question. What do the original diesel mk2's use for the rev counter signal? no coil so no signal right.

I think its more than just a -ve feed.
Its getting that and no workie.. from S60 direct, and also off coil drivers direct.
