It seems that alot of cars are going missing at the moment, would be good for a FAQ on basic (easy/cheap) security things you can do to them to make it harder for the crims.

    Any ideas appreciated.

    Thanx

Thing is, there is little you can really do to a MK2 to make it secure - i know i could get into any MK2 in just a few seconds - they are not secure.

armour door plates, remove door pins inside the car, make up a plate to cover the gap behind the grill badge so that the bonnet cant be popped from outside ...and a proper alarm/ imobiliser or at least a red l.e.d

oh and i use a disclok thingy..seems pretty tuff, you'd deffinetly take a while to hack it off

Get some anti 'slim jim' plates, stop peeps using a piece of metal to get into your car. They were available from VAG at one point.

Take your seats out and remove the battery :)
