Mk2 Sony headunit help

Hi Chaps

After a bit of help......

I've had my sony headunit in the car (mk2 GTI 8v '91) for about 12 months and i'm sick of having to sit there with my finger on the 'off' button at the end of every journey to turn it off!!

How can I change it so the ignition turns the power off to the unit?

you need to set up an ignition power feed, there isnt one on the mk2,

so what you can do is connect one up to the air fans in your car, (as these are turned on and off with the ignition)

you need to put a wire from the power of the fan, to the red (i think its) wire from the back of your HU,

i'd rather push the button! can't stand it when the stereo comes on when you turn the key

 

i would rather have to turn it on my self, but, its anoying when you turn the ignition off and you still have to turn the sterio off,
