mk3 automatic - where do I start?

Hi Everyone

Iv had an unfortunate accident recently and injured my back quite badly. I can still drive but the use of a clutch is quite difficult.
My ownly car is a mk2 8v GTI, which has also been the only car I have ever loved and I would hate to get rid of it.

However, its just not comfortable for me, and things arnt set to improve for some time. I could just keep it but I dont have a garage and these things need to be driven as you all know. Nor can I put sponge to metal, let-alone carry a bucket.

Thus I have come across a MK3 1.8 Automatic in what I would call P Green - Niiiiice

Its low milage, top condition and going cheap. Im not expecting much, but can anything be done to improve this already overpowered beast and make the transition a little more easy? What the hell do I do with the MK2? Pass it on to someone new?

Any opinions would be great
