mk3 gti 8v engine mods

    ello to all at cgti this site is great , anyways engine mods , what can i do (on the cheep cos funds are low) to get more out my engine to give it a lil bit more grunt

    Well that depends on how much you want to spend, but any " cheap " mod really isn't going to be all that effective.

    i want sound more than power like gd exhaust , filter , ano its an 8v but want it to sound meaty

    my limit at the moment is 800 to start with ,, then ill see what i can do after that

    mine is fitted with a dual miltek exhuast system which roars when you hack it but relitivly quiet when your crusing. dont know about price as it was on the car when i bought it. i also have an induction kit that i am fitting soon will let you know how that goes

    If you want more power and have 800 to spend i would just sell the 8v and buy a 16v, problem solved

    yeah phill let me no buddy , i put a scorpion dtm back box on tday an it sounds a little better than it did but think i need the full system to gt the grunt i want ,, think ill have to get an induction kit for mine to ..

    n yeah nealy fink i mite jus do that n get a 16v ,, if i could stop the misses buying shoes i mite jus get a mint vr6 ..

    Sell it and get a Mk3 16v and do things to the ABF instead.

    what can be done to the 16v that cant be done to the 8v ,, mite sound daft but i ant a clue

    whats the bhp ov both the mk3 8v n 16v as standerd ..

    my mk3 2.0ltr gti is 115BHP not shore Wat the BHP on a mk3 16v is but my friends mk2 1.8 16v is about 140BHP standard

    8v = 115bhp

    16v = 150bhp

    according to parkers

    About 155BHP, you add a chip and exhaust and you'll be having an easy time making light work of VRs. Apparently you have about 190BHP with those two mods, then you have cams which will give you more... and so forth.

    Have a word, +40bhp on a na car from just a chip and an exhaust

    Someones been reading too much max power

    think ill avto find one of them chips haha ,, a should of said my golfs a mk3 2.0 8v with KN induction kit (4 cold air inlets) and scorpion dtm back box ,, am still looking a full system ..
    ill post some pics as soon i polish the golf

    take out ur middle exhaust boxs nd go straight thru to bak box will give u loads of grunt lol

    for 800 notes you could get yourself a PP head and matched manifolds, that would make it have a bit more go
