Im trying to remove my passenger airbag as i want to put the top glovebox in its place. i got to the bottom screws fine but cant figure how to get the rest of the bolts out. please help cheers
Lower glove box/tray off and then remove the 3 or 4 bottom bolts on the dash bar then, on the top half of the airbag, there are three (or four) cylindrical plastic locators which locate into the airbag frame which is screwed into the dash. The plastic pins are interference fit and require a fair pull to remove the airbag from its locating frame. Once the airbag is out its only a few screws to remove the frame and then you can chuck the glovebox in. I went the other way - Removed the glovebox and fitted the airbag
Take care when you’re doing it, there are procedures for removing air bags, get in wrong and you could end up in hospital, or worse
First off disconnect the battery, then wait 20 minutes or so, then unplug the airbag itself, before trying to remove it.
