    Hi all,

I'm cleaning up these Mk3 Golf rear calipers for my Mk3 and am wondering what these rubber bushes are for. The bracket they are located on is fixed. I can't see any purpose for them, unless anyone knows otherwise?

Thanks for that; I may keep them on for originality.

Started to remove the existing calipers on the car last night because of seizing mechanisms and not really paying much attention in the past, I originally thought they were Mk2 versions because of an external spring. Actually turns out they are Mk3 type and have an external spring???

Might be worth stripping down and freeing up the mechanism and refurbishing as necessary.

some cars have an extra spring on the outside as a retrofit, think its sharan/galaxy/alhambra part off hand. these still have the internal spring piston like the later mk3 the external one gives it a bit of help
