I have just bought myself a mk3 golf gti 16v. Does anyone know the size of the speakers as the previous owner had a soundsystem in and removed the speakers when they sold the car. Was thinking about vibe speakers, does anyone have any suggestions?
13 cm? you get what you pay for with car audio, more you spend on good brands the better they will be, stay away from sony, splx and any other simalr shitty brands, stick with alpine, crystal, RE, pioneer, boston acousticsetc.... tim
yep alpine type r's are a good set of comps easy to fit and with a good tweeter mount kit ideal for the mk3
door speakers are 6.5 inch on my mk3. Ive got these: http://www.infinitysystems.com/caraudio/product.aspx?ProdId= 'REF6002I'&Ser=REF&Cat=MEL slightly different spec as uk ones but basically the same. got them from www.bassjunkies.com They fitted behind the standard grills so they are well hidden. soundgood and not too expensive will post some pics when the stereo is finished. Lowering is first though. should be done within next couple of weeks william
