mk3 track car

    Has anyone got info on preparing a track day car at mo we have everything stripped out
    ie dash, interior, seats all non used wiring, doors to just shells , but need to know if there are things we can or cannot
    do thanks

    There's loads you can do, there's about 4 or 5 track mk3's in members rides including mine

    Thanks for posting ive looked through your build and we seem to have done similar mods .we have decided on 20vt engine as i have aquired 3 up to now and 2 16v boxes with shifters .if you do cadwell you cannot be far from us in lincoln .well done on your build bud

    Just took delivery of a mk4 20 vt runs lovely no smoke at all car in very good condition
    seems a shame to rip it to bits for doner but has to be done

    Remove and plate sunroof if it has one.
    Remove bumper irons.
    Perspex windows

    If you are at a loose end on the 12-13th Dec take a look at thunder in the park at donington 150 for 2 days

    At the mo car stripped of everything that weights anything madmanmart .polycarb windows next.

    ^^ Best way is to get a pax lap in a similar car to see what is possible and how that car will match your own expectations.

    Sound deadening on floors, sealant inside wings, if you have a cage roof bracing. All unused brackets can be drilled out with a spot weld drill. Cut out the spare wheel well and bolt in a piece of carbon. Bonnet frame to leave skin. List is endless.

    Best to do a thread and experienced members can share advice with you :thumbup:

    Thanks for your input pascal some things i hadn't thought of like the strengtheners wheelwell
    and underseal bud. Bloody core plugs went due to being stood they are a bugger to get to lol

    Can someone let me know what engine mountings they have used to
    put 20vt into mk3.I have 8v in at mo and putting in agu with o2a box

    You need a 16v front mount and rear drivers side mount and the gearbox mount
