Mk3 VR6 / 16v ABF Clocks

Are the rev counters the same on these two engines ( Clocks).

Is it possible to use a set of VR Clocks on a 16v engine, or will the revs / speedo be too far out?

just thinking out loud.

They have different part numbers, so I assume they use different signals for the rev counter due to the 6cyl's. Maybe someone else will confirm 100%

 

VR redline at 6k and ABF redlines at 7k
