Is there one knocking about on the forum chaps/chapesses? If not, can anyone give me a quick run down on the basic/standard features and trim options please? Muchos thanks. Neil.
Spot on. Thanking you Im thinking Tornado Red (I would have to go with the harder of the species to find lol)
yes the red are more rare have heard there is only about 30 to 40 dont know how true that is they do look good in red
Wow. 30 or 40....Bloody hell I think they look good too, propper GTI colour eh The search starts here i think! Neil.
i have been looking at these a year or so ago and never found a red one, lots of blue and black but never red. off to google lol
there was two on pistonheads and one is now in aberdeen and this one http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1591883.htm
Yep, spotted that one, looks a nice motor Shame it's over the water though, bit more hassle but i suppose i may still consider... Is there another red one on pistonheads then Stu? Not spotted one apart from an already sold one. Neil.
Bloody hellIt could be worse i suppose but still an absolute joke. Apologies Mushy, not sure why i called you Stu, was confusing you with someone in another thread i think Im just trying to sign up to the r32 register but having trouble with the captcha image jobby. Neil.
Mk4 R32 will definately be my next car in a year or so. The red one above looks great, ive only seen silvers, blues and blacks on the road in the past Mine will have to be in silver tbh. They look great. Dont mind the four door ones either!!!
Practical performance car did a buyers guide in the Feb 2010 issue, the car they used for the photos was red as well! Ive only ever saw one red r32 in the flesh! If i can work out how to use my scanner i will scan the article for you, if not i will condense it down to the important bits
Aye, 4 door really wouldn't bother me either. Especially with two kiddies I think it has to be Red or the Blue pearl for me. Nealey, that would be great to see I did drive one a good while ago when they first came out, I know they aren't 'quick' but these days for me im not overly bothered as long as it cruises easily with a good solid interior. After testing 355 horse of jap crap, id much rather stick with Vw build quality without doubt! The evo 6 i recently looked at really was a disappointment for me. May well end up keeping the Corrado for a bit of a more raw toy for the odd show or weekend, that's if i don't sell it. Neil.
Cant work out how to do it! I may have to read the instructions at this rate! Condensed down though it pretty much says Servicing Try and get one thats been on the 10k service intervals and not the longlife 20k intervals Haldex oil every 20k, filter at 40k Spark plugs every 40k Bodywork Check for rust around the tailgate handle and above the screen (but if its under 10years will be covered under warranty) Common colours are metallic blue, black and silver. Dark blue, grey and red are less common and tend to fetch a small premium Transmission Only problems tend to be from lack of oil and filter changes, clutch change is a 7 hour job so check its not slipping Brakes No real problems but pads and discs work out around 550 an axle set, tarox do replacements for around 400 Suspension Rear springs tend to snap at the base so check for a car sitting low at the rear Front top mounts tend to wear so check for heavy steering Front lower arm bushes wear Rear anti roll bars sleeves can become unbonded, replacement arb needed Engine Listen out for chain noise, can become noisey after 100k and will cost you around 1k to change! Air flow sensors fail, can cause poor idle, poor mpg and loss of power Coolant temp sensors going faulty can also cause poor running Check cooling fans work properly and that the fuse isnt blown. The fuse is located on top of the battery Interior Make sure the windows go up and down nicely and are not noisey, its common for them to break the clips and the window drops into the door Check the aircon also works ok That is the article summed up, if i get round to reading the instruction manual i will scan the article anyway
That's fantastic mate, massive thanks for taking the time to type that out. Really appreciate it Don't suppose it mentions when the timing chain should be serviced/changed ? Thanks again. Neil.
