No discount anywhere but at least it should keep residuals good. TBH, I'd save eight grand and buy an Octavia vRS

I had my mums for the week a couple of weeks ago. It is very very good. Quite fast too. Very comfy. Handles ok too.

Looks and sounds awesome; it *is* very expensive, but one of few cars that size/class I'd own.

    Loads about in Bristol now.
I like them - Subtle but quick. [:D]
Seem to be yuppie car choice number 1 though as expected [:^(]
Octavia is a great car (tested one) but it's just SO ugly and the interior is minging.
Apart from that I rate it as one of the VW groups best medium car buys.

The vRS uses the Mk4 Golf platform and does not utilise the new chassis enhancements though, as they have not introduced a new shape one yet have they? Once they use the Mk5 platform and 2.0 TSI engine, it will be better. New Octavia interior is much nicer too.

Id still rather the VW styling and badge though. Its looked spot on.

I like the front end, but the back still looks wrong. Can't exactly put my finger on it but it's the lights and the shape of the back panel.
I think the interior is a bit flimsy too, but that's just me being piccy.

But at nearly 20k it's a lot of wonga!!

I'm waiting to see what they crank the engines up to for the dirty dirty diesel 4 motion before i totaly commit.

Saying that, if it goes to stupid road prices and the fuel gets cheaper, with the times i drive about i could run the next generation of the R32 [:D] [:D] [:D]

I'll be seriously looking at the new R32/34/36.
I'm missing being able to take the p*ss around corners and get away with it!
Deako - I reckon the vRS handles a LOT better than a mk4 Golf.
