And its not looking too pretty to me. Does have potential, lowered on some nice wheels but it doesn't have that special something proportions wise. I wanted a baby Phaeton. I wanted a baby Phaeton, whereas it looks like a MKV Golf with a new shape Honda Accord grafted to the back...I won't be buying one. ------------------------ www.vwvortex.com This photo has been floating around the internet (mostly on spanish speaking message boards) for about a week or so. The original version was small and poor quality and now this higher resolution version popped up in our Golf V/Jetta V forum. It appears to be taken in Peubla at the VW factory and even has VW's internal number codes on the front fender (just behind the headlamp in white). This is a higher resolution version that someone photoshopped out the background. It is a base model Jetta V. You can now see the tailamp treatments more clearly and also notice the interesting exhaust treatment with dual outlets on the passenger side (so does that mean on the drivers side as well sporting quad exhausts? or was the photo reversed? either way...). Look like the trunk has a lip spoiler integrated into it as well. No idea if that chrome/polished piece on the front nose will make it or not. There will be a GLI version from what we understand that will utilize the same front bumper replacement as the GTI concept shown at Frankfurt, side skirts, a different rear valance, 18" wheels , lowered suspension, 16v 200hp 2.0l 4-cylinder turbo, six-speed manual or DSG and sport trim on the interior that nearly matches the GTI. Overall I'll be very curious to see this car in person at NAIAS next January when it is introduced. Edited by: Mikedav
Eek! Not sure about that. The last Bora was fantastic and IMO better than the MK4 Golf, but this isnt looking good. I dont understand why they have gone back to slapping a boot on a Golf instead of individually designing a saloon variant
I hope the picture isnt 100% acurrate...mind you it is apparently a base model. Found this on the Vortex And an interesiting revision - swage line and rub strips: Edited by: Mikedav
156? I was thinking MKV Golf at the front, New shape Honda Accord at the back creating, overal, a Toyota Avensis. Edited by: Mikedav
That is damn ugly! However I very much doubt that VW will manufacture that... reason being...they will be braking tradition. Golfs have always had twin round (roundish) headlights and jettas have alwyays had square lights....I don't really see them braking that trend...and if they do then it's time to get an audi.
